JBC is a Gold Sponsor of the IPC’s Hand Soldering Competition at SMT Hybrid Packaging 2018, which will be held in Nuremberg (Germany) on June 5-7.
The competition will be held at the IPC hand soldering competition Booth 400, Hall 4.
Over three days, participants will compete against each other to build a functional electronics assembly within a 60-minute time limit. Assemblies will be judged on soldering in accordance with IPC-A-610G Class 3 criteria, the speed at which the assembly was produced and overall electrical functionality of the assembly. IPC-A-610 Master Instructors will serve as the judges.
Also for beginners
New this year we will add a competition for beginners who would like to demonstrate their soldering skills. Beginners will follow similar rules as the professionals and will be soldering a printed circuit board assembly which meets their skill level. Cash prizes will be awarded to students at the following level: 1st place — €30; 2nd place — €20; 3rd place — €10.
JBC awards the winner
Cash awards will be given to the winner and two runners-up. In addition, the winner will be invited to compete in the World Championship in San Diego, California at IPC APEX EXPO 2019, 29–13 January 2019, where IPC will cover the cost of airfare and hotel.
JBC will award the best-of-the-best with a CD-2BE Compact Soldering station.
